No, wearing black doesn't really have anything to do with that. Without seeing you, it's hard to be sure, but the style of your clothes may also have something to do with it. You can wear an all black suit and no one will think goth, so it comes down to the style and cut of your clothing. Bagginess, wrinkles and tears don't help either.

Wearing black nail polish was all the rage for women a year or two ago and it's still quite popular, and that has nothing to do with being goth either. It was a high end fashion trend supported by the likes of Chanel. Don't worry too much; sometimes the odd person will simply interpret your style completely incorrectly and there's not much you can do about it.
