If you mean her figure as in body I am sure nice Bavarian Weissbier will not have done her figure too good, albeit she wasnt to alluring to start with. If you mean figure as in stance in her political activity I would say definitely yes. This coming weekend is the opening of the Oktoberfest (CANT WAIT!) and I think it is currently a good move that goes down well with the German public to have one or two "Mass".
Germany is deeply rooted in beer making history and Germans are not the kind of people to write their Chancellor of as an alcoholic just because she knocks back a couple of beers. Besides beer has many healthy ingredients and it is a Bavarian saying that beer gives you beautiful skin.
Recently we have also seen Obama use this technique with his "beer summit". I think it is an effective method because beer is the drink of "the people". In any country citizens enjoy if they can relate to their leaders and if their leaders seem to be like them. Also known as accessible.

Has Chancellor Merkel's figure benefited from drinking beer?
Not many ladies her age get their figures mentioned as a possible political advantage. Has she been aided by drinking plenty of beer? What have studies on beer shown in this respect?

That looks more like a Marzen, or Oktoberfest brew than weissbier. I think it can help the figure, as some people believe. Beer drinking definitely helps a politician seem a "man of the people", or woman etc, as long as they don't drink some really expensive specialty beer.
