Going to attempt to knit a striped scarf with multicolored yarn. Anyone have any tips to actually get the stripes aligned properly?

I think your best best is just to swatch with different stitch counts and needle sizes until you the the result you're after. If the color repeat lengths in your yarn are consistent and you find the right gauge, you should be good to go.
