My roommate used Mary Kay EXCLUSIVELY. She had a huge shelf with tons of different products for face, hands, etc. She must have had 100 different lotions - how she afforded it, I'll never know, because she certainly didn't use it all, I swear they were just for show. She'd always give me the little free bonuses she got with order like manicure sets because she didn't want them.
I don't find there stuff any better than other products, but a mutual friend of ours' mother sold it, which I'm guessing is why she had so much - she felt guilty not buying it.
And actually, about 2 years ago my 20 year old friend became a seller, though I'm not sure if she's still doing it; part of the deal was giving 30 facials in 30 days or something like that, which she did, but I never heard of her having a party or anything like that.
I know Avon catalogs still go around my work pretty frequently but I haven't seen much about Mary Kay other than from my friends recently!

I don't use it anymore or any of the makeup that she sold to me because it wasn't worth it. The products were too expensive and when you're a teenager, you don't care as much about the quality, you're more worried about trends and such.
Now that I'm older, it just never occurred to me to call her up and ask for more...mostly because I wasn't that impressed with the products in the first place. First impressions are everything!

I used to have an Aunt that sold Mary Kay and she gave me a set of face lotion and cleaners that was part of their line for teens. I don't use it anymore or any of the makeup that she sold to me because it wasn't worth it.
