It's hard to get definitive answer for this, but some internet sleuthing reveals that there was a Marc Campbell who graduated from Clemson in 1984, and he has a company in Anderson SC and has ran it for 9 years. The current Tar heel named Marc Campbell went to highschool in Raleigh.
Anderson and Raleigh are about 4 hours away from each other, so unless the kid commuted so school or the dad commuted to work? So there is a chance, but again no definitive answer is available.

There is also the chance the listed Campbell is different from the on you are referring to?
You might have a shot at contacting UNC and getting that answer
