Secondly I think it highly unlikely he will be sued. There are no legal grounds for the matter, no matter how appalling it is.

Even in the ultra-competitive NBA there is a tradition of laying back when you're in the forth quarter and you're ahead 20 or 30 points. I would think a high-school teacher would get that it's unsportsmanlike to pound your opponent like this.
It shows a clear lack of empathy for the other team. In the end, however, the team that lost 100 to nothing comes out the winner. They understand now exactly how harsh and cutthroat some people can be and the impact such brutality can have on other people.
In terms of being fired that's over the top, but then again if you don't have the common sense to apologize for something like this--especially if your job and the reputation of your school is on the line--you're probably not that bright a person. On those grounds I'd fire them.... just for not understanding the big picture of saving the reputation of the school and girls. The coach should fall on the sword and say in hindsight it was not a good idea.

There's no rule preventing a 100-0 score in girls' basketball. The only rule she violated was "the golden rule." So no, she should not be fired for this particular instance, although it probably speaks to her character and may be indicative of other coaching problems.

I don't believe he should be fired. I do believe he made a poor choice. The other team obviously wasn't going to make a comeback, and he chose to humiliate them. He made a poor choice by not apologizing, but one would hope he lears from his mistakes. Secondly I think it highly unlikely he will be sued. There are no legal grounds for the matter, no matter how appalling it is.

This doesn't feel very sportsman like I have to say. If you're winning 50 to nothing after halftime it's clear that there is no chance for the other team to come back and you should take out the starters, stop shooting three pointers and generally let the clock run out. Even in the ultra-competitive NBA there is a tradition of laying back when you're in the forth quarter and you're ahead 20 or 30 points. I would think a high-school teacher would get that it's unsportsmanlike to pound your opponent like this.

Considering that the word Basketball is right in the high school's name, Flight Basketball Academy, I'm sure they have plenty of backups.
