I'd like to say the Phillies would repeat since I'm a fan, but it probably wont happen. History is against it. Very few teams, I believe only 2 teams in the last 30 years have repeated as champions. But should Pedro Martinez pitch well, anywhere near his prime years, Cole Hamels picks it up and Cliff Lee continue to pitch well, they have a shot. The Phillies will score runs, it will be interesting to see if they make it back to the series. I'd have to pick the Yankees. They are the hottest team in baseball. They have future hall of famers, great pitching, top notch coaching, just an all around great team.

Any number of teams, including Wild Card teams can do it.
My personal pick is the Philadelphia Phillies, who just added AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee to bolster the pitching staff.

The first team to win 4 games in a best of seven series, played between the American League and National League champions. Any number of teams, including Wild Card teams can do it.

Yankees. They have had two major problems in recent years. They haven't played well against the Angels, and this year they will be able to avoid them at least for the first round, and, more significantly, Wang as their ace has pitched horribly in the playoffs (not an issue this yaar). Sabathia and Burnett give them a much better top of the rotation, and Rivera and Hughes have been pitching great for months in the bullpen.
