Joe Jackson.
He currently has the third highest career batting average and holds the White Sox franchise record for triples. His major league career lasted only 12 years; he was banned from baseball because of the 1919 White Sox World Series scandal. Evidence and the courts support that he was not guilty. During the Series, Jackson led both teams in number of hits (12) and batting average (.375).

This would be Pete Rose, as he was not eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame.
