Of course. Bonds did nothing that other Hall of Famers haven't done. Steroids were not even against baseball's rules until recently, they were not when Bonds, McGwire, Sosa etc. first became known as users. They were illegal, but many have used illegal drugs (Babe Ruth drank a lot during Prohibition). Almost every star of the sixties used performance enhancing drugs. Amphetamines were routinely distributed in big league clubhouses. Other Hall of Famers have used other methods of performance enhancement - corked bats or spitballs (Gaylord Perry) which are FAR more performance enhancing than steroids, Other HOFers also have committed far worse crimes than drug use.

Bonds would have been a no question about it Hall of Famer without any steroid use. With others, the sportswriters are going to actually think and decide if they belong, in fact EVERY player's career must be determined in context. A player playing in Coors Field in the early years is going to have his numbers inflated far more than by steroids. Jim Rice benefited greatly from Fenway, his career numbers on the road are awful. The writers won’t, though, they will take the easy way out and vote against anyone they THINK has taken steroids.

Yes; they never proved in court that he used steroids. Until they do, he should, without question, be able to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame.

No, because he used performance enhancing drugs which affected how he played. He cheated himself and the game. What's sad is, he was plenty good enough to have Hall of Fame numbers before using the performance enhancers. I suppose his ego was so huge that he had to try and break as many records as possible, even if in an artificial manner.

Unless I am missing something, he was never convicted of using performance enhancing drugs. Also, you have no proof that he was not using performance enhancing drugs earlier in his career.
