Are commercials hurting the growth of NASCAR?

Can't they just run a banner at the bottom? Or superimpose an ad on the infield?

In terms of popularity, I honestly don't think so. Almost everything else in sports has commercials. Plus, the cars are basically speeding billboards, anyway.

Or in another way, it helps NASCAR, because it means more money coming in to them.
