I am going to do NaNo again and I plan on completing it this time around. I tried last year but only got a few thousand words in and life started happening around me. This time I plan on finishing what I started!
I may do Script Frenzy in April too but I'm not sure yet. I need to see how well NaNo goes.

However this year i'm actually going to start with an idea, a few characters and a basic outline. So at least I stand a fighting chance.

If nothing else, the amount of mindful gibberish that is expected in such feverish writing should be hilarious! (Thanks NaNoWriMo.org for emphasizing that expectations are low! That always helps inspire! LOL!)
Hmmmm....NaNo here I come!

How many of you are going to enter NaNoWriMo this November?
NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, relaunches in October, and the challenge begins in November. You can learn more about it by clicking this link NaNoWriMo - but basically, the challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel (or longer) in the month of November, along with the other 100,000 plus challengers.
Have you ever done NaNoWriMo? Did you win? Are you going to enter and challenge yourself to write a novel this year? I am!

• Great answer and thanks for helping to encourage others to challenge themselves as well!
Good luck with NaNo and with ScriptFrenzy. I haven't tried that one yet, but I've been considering it. Scripts aren't really my thing though.
Good luck everyone!

I am entering NaNoWriMo again this year. I completed 54,000 words last year. I loved it. And now the novel from last year is in revision. This gives me "me" time for 30 days and also a novel to work with for the next 11 months until NaNo comes around again. Try joining a regional group close to your area...the group not only encourages you every day but in the end you have great online friends to help you with other projects.

I have entered five years in a row now, and I won all of them except last year's. I hope you do win this year!

Well I failed miserably last year... mainly because I heard about it 2 days before the start and had no idea what to write... after a few chapters I just crumbled. However this year i'm actually going to start with an idea, a few characters and a basic outline. So at least I stand a fighting chance.

It is very easy. Go to the website: http://www.nanowrimo.org and sign up. Then during the month of November, Write and Write some more... The website will allow you to keep track of word count and give you the ability to put a synopsis of your book out. Plus, the NaNo team sends helpful emails to encourage you to write. Some of them are from well known novelists too.

Shewolf, I hope you'll at least consider trying it. I homeschool my son (15 years old) and work full time at home and try to have a little social life too, but I still find the time to pound it out for NaNo.
think of it this way: it's only 1667 words per day.... that's not much, all said and done. If you only do 10k total, that's 10k more toward a novel than you had before!

I learned about NaNoWriMo last year and have been thinking about attempting it ever since. Now that I have a lot of time on my hands, I'm seriously considering giving it a shot! If nothing else, the amount of mindful gibberish that is expected in such feverish writing should be hilarious! (Thanks NaNoWriMo.org for emphasizing that expectations are low!
