BBC Reported that 1999 AN10, an Asteroid could hit the earth in the year 2039

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/347764.stm

-----------
The calculations suggest that an impact is not possible that year but, in theory, the Earth's gravity could perturb the asteroid's path, possibly leading to an impact in 2039.
----------

But that chance is still slim

Oh... Plus I don't think the "Ice Age" would be our biggest concern, it would be survival in general

I think we'll definitely get hit by an asteroid, although probably not in our life time. Some time within the next 10,000 years we'll probably get hit by an asteroid. Although, I doubt that it will cause an ice age. It will probably just create a huge crater in the earth, which will fill with water and create a new ocean. Personally, I'm hoping it hits right smack dab over the middle east.

More likely than that is the idea that one day earth will be hit by something larger than earth. A planet that fell out of orbit or never was in one that somehow ends up smashing directly into earth and knocking us right out of orbit. That will create an ice age. Since we'll no longer be close to the sun(or perhaps for some time too close), we'll all freeze to death in the icy cold of space.

Oh, what grim fates await us.

Hopefully not, and I do not believe this will happen. I do not have any or enough evidence to answer this question, because first I do not know how long "our lifetime" is, and second I can not conclude about where an asteroid is at this moment. I do not believe this will happen because our globe has warmed up since 2.3 million years ago, and this is highly unlikely to occur.

Probably not in our lifetime, but sometime in the future history of earth, definitely.
