I am interested in Astronomy as it relates to Black Holes and Gravity
The reason for this interest is fear. I like to confront fear, it makes me feel good. I believe one common fear amongst us all is the unknown and this extends to the unknown of Black Holes. How did they get there? Are they really what we think they are? Do I want to go find out what is in a Black Hole? Will anyone ever travel into a Black Hole? I could go on and on about my questions regarding Black Holes.
Maybe the study of Black Holes is a sub-topic of Gravity. What is more powerful than Gravity? How can we better harness the power of Gravity? Albert Einsteins description of Gravity, is it correct? Do the planets and the Sun really sit on the fabric of Spacetime warping it and cause the funneling effect of downward gravity?
How are we absolutely sure the Universe is expanding and not contracting?

I love astronomy when it's explained in layman's terms. I took an astronomy class in college once, and it felt like, instead of learning how stars and galaxies are formed, and so on, it was a bunch of complicated math that went over my head. Black holes, star and planet formation, and relativity are all fascinating topics to me.
