When I think about popular and fun 'micro' sculptures... I think of Willard Wigan.

He actually creates these works of art with his own hands, and must be in a meditative state to work on things this small.

From looking at the video and reading about him, it looks like the only tools he uses are what is small enough to hold in his hand.
He painted one sculpture with a hair off the back of a fly. Wow.
If I were in London, I would make sure to visit his gallery 'My Little Eye' and see his art first hand (with a microscope, of course!)
