Basically on a computer there are 255 diffrent shades for red, 255 for blue and 255 for green. Using these you can have the lowest shade value for all (0,0,0) and this will produce black, or do the opposite (255,255,255) and have white. So if we know grey is 50% white and 50% black you just have to have half of the total values (255,255,255), so the grey would be (127.5,127.5,127.5). So the oppisite of this would be the total (255,255,255) minus this value (127.5,127.5,127.5) and that is (127.5,127.5,127.5). So therefore the oppisite of perfect gray is perfect (perfect meaning 50% white and 50% black)gray. If you have a diffrent shade of gray e.g 30% white and 70% black the you just switch them e.g 70% white and 30% black. So the lighter the gray the darker the oppisite (Which is kind of commen sense).
You may be thinking ~ "The Opposite of Grey is Grey?.. WHAT?"
But, not only can two things be both opposite and the same, but this principle may well be at the heart of true reality. Niels Bohr, the father of quantum physics, used to say that:
Quote:
There are trivial truths and the great truths. The opposite of a trivial truth is plainly false. The opposite of a great truth is also true.
