Need art selling tips and tricks

I've only sold a couple commissions for real cheap. I'll have more available very soon that are of different flavors. I've posted my art in many many places(dA and CG included, not eBay yet). Etsy was a complete failure and now I can't afford to list there anymore.

Should I bother putting these up on eBay? (I have a few dollars worth of credit there)

I heard to raise the prices of things that aren't selling. I raised them, still no bites.

The pictures probably aren't that great. I've photographed these probably 20 times each with my crappy camera :-/

Getting desperate now almost 7 years trying to find a real job...

Try showing them at your local restaurants. Lots of times they will allow you to put a couple of pictures up and they will give out your name/number of people who are interested. It's cheap and free and if they don't sell you move them to another restaurant. If you do happen to sell you might want to note the clientele of the restaurant as that is probably a good target audience for you in the future.

I forgot the most obvious also. Make sure you show your work on Deviant Art. It's all about art. Lots of views. Big audience. http://www.deviantart.com/

It's a hard market right now, and the people that are still buying art are the people with money. Your price point is below the people with tons of money and is more the price point of middle class. I suggest switching medium if possible. Oil paintings always go for more than acrylic. Also, a painting should be in the hundreds of dollars range, which narrows your market, yes, but when you sell one, you have made significant income. Try applying to group shows at artdeadlines.com so you can build up your resume. The more shows you have, the more you can charge. This may take a while, and you might have to get a day job, but in the end you will be selling your work to the people that want to collect it, and are more likely to be repeat customers.

I would love to switch to oils. All I have to do is sell a painting or two and then I can.

Artdeadlines is membership only, and it is a yearly fee. Totally worth it though. Even if you switch to cheap oils it might be better for you, for some reason the art world thinks of acrylics as "less than" or something.
