The urge to tell a story. To see my characters come alive. To cause the reader to empathize with my characters. To bring a laugh to a reader, or a tear or to have a reader's hair stand on end. To make a reader stay up at night longer than they should.
To make a reader finish my story with a feeling of satisfaction, a feeling that those were hours well spent.
That is what inspires me to write.
