No. But I do think that it in all likelihood stems from a hard line stance that is is part related to fiasco of the guerrilla ad campaign for 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force'. After what happened last year, they likely have a low tolerance for anything off the beaten path and wanted to make an example of him. I think that they hoped to force a confrontation and would have liked a large audience, given the timing of when the arrest took place vs. issuance of the warrants.
It is unlikely that it will stick in this case and the Boston PD will likely look like complete idiots again - repeat of last year.
