Eventhough i didn't get a chance to visit the Arizona sonora desert museum i have heard it from my friends who have visited.
It's described as a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden. It realistically exhibits the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert Region.
It's so realisitc that you find yourself eye-to-eye with mountain lions, prairie dogs, Gila monsters, and more. There are approximately 300 animal species and 1200 kinds of plants.
Recommended place to visit.

Have you ever visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (near Tucson)? If so, what did you think?
I spent much time there as a kid - wonderful place! Seeing this video of the Raptor Free Flight demonstrations inspired me to share and ask this Q. People still come to Arizona with sand dune visions of the desert - this is the best place to dispel that notion and learn how beautiful and alive the Sonoran Desert is.

Thanks, vida! And, though I haven't had encounters outside of the ASDM with mountain lions, I did have a couple with Gila monsters. So, yeah, the Desert Museum offers visitors - and locals - much more than they would get on their own.
