Are there freelance seamstress sites?
Are there are sites that let you post custom sewing jobs to get quotes? Similar to hiring a freelance designer or writer, but for sewing projects.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Have you tried Craigslist? Yes, that is an obvious answer, but I would think that would be a great place because you could find someone local.
I know that Etsy is "the" place to sell things handmade, you might try posting in their forum. (http://www.etsy.com)

Thanks darcy.
Customers ask me for custom curtains, runners and misc. fabric pieces almost weekly. I would like to refer them somewhere but haven't really come up with a solution that really fits the need.
Craigslist is probably the best solution available, but it would be nice if there was something available like guru.com to match people with fabric and a pattern to people who like to work with a needle and thread.
Sounds like a great idea. Why don't you start one?
