There are five basic types of Phillips screwdrivers. The first on is the straight and most common one. It normally has a plastic or wooden handle. The second one is called the Rachet Screwdriver and it is the one of the five that provides the torque feature. The third one on the list is the Multi-Bit screwdriver and it comes with several interchangeable bits of different sizes. The fourth Phillips Screwdriver is the Offset on and with this one, there are Phillips Screwdrivers on both ends and the whole tool is shaped like a Z.
The last of the five is called the Magnetized Screwdriver and it is great to hold on to the screws so they will not fall. This especially works well if you are doing work in a very limited area.
There are six sizes of Phillips screwdrivers. There is a size 1 which is equal to 3/16”, a size 2 which is ¼”, a size 3 which is 5/16”, size 4 which is 3/8”, and then there is a 0 and a 00, the latter being designed for electronic jobs and those that have very small screws.
