Are there any hostels in Chicago?

We are 5 students on a tour through the U.S.. We don't speak much English, but can manage. Where would we find some cheap accommodation for traveling students? Any help much appreciated!
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are at least three Chicago, IL hostels. The HI-Chicago is located at 24 E. Congress Pkwy in Chicago, IL. Their zip code is, 60605. They have won the HostelBookers Award for Excellence in 2010 and have ranked in the top three for having the best location in all North America. They are within easy walking distance from shopping, dining and attractions. They even give walking tours to the most popular landmarks. They accommodate groups and individuals in large same-sex rooms with either six or ten beds. There are also cheap private rooms available. Breakfast comes with the price of the stay, but taxes may not be included in the online prices for the dates of your stay.

According to their website at http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/usa/chicago/1936/, “. Our hostel has the best location in Chicago, situated in the center of the city….In the area surrounding the hostel are a number of Chicago's main attractions, museums and restaurants. Explore the nearby Lake Michigan, the world-famous Magnificent Mile or Shedd Aquarium, all located within walking distance from the hostel.”

The Chicago Getaway Hostel located at 616 West Arlington Place, Chicago, IL 60614 is in a very swank area just a short ten minute ride from downtown. They boast being the best match for those backpacking. Their location makes it a short walk to Lake Michigan, or they have bike rentals. Their prices do not include taxes but the tax rate for them is 15.4 percent. Their accommodations include dorm style, semi-private, and private rooms.

Per their website, http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/usa/chicago/1958/, they offer the following: (all are subject to change)
• Free Internet
• Free Continental Breakfast
• Free Linens and Towels
• Free Lockers
• Game Room
• Common Kitchen
• Vending Machines
• Washer and Dryer
• Ironing Board and Iron
• Pool Tables
• Public Phones
• Board Games
• Hostel Guitars

The third hostel is the Chicago International Hostel at 6318 North Winthrop, Chicago, IL 60660. They offer a homier feel for their guests. They have a full guest kitchen. They are near the Loyola University close to Lake Michigan, shopping and restaurants. Accommodations information from their site http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/usa/chicago/42190/, states a guest must be at least 16 years old and they do not have a curfew, but close between the hours of 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
