Are there any early signs that a pregnancy might be a multiple pregnancy?

You may have symptoms that may lead you and your doctor to believe that you have a multiple pregnancy. These symptoms may also happen earlier and may be worse than a single pregnancy. This could include extra weight gain, backache, excessive nausea and vomiting in your first trimester, a larger uterus than normal, and excessive fetal movement. Higher than normal HCG levels can give a clue that you may be carrying multiples, but an ultrasound would be the definitive way of knowing if one or more fetus is present.

I had posted this so that other people that may have this question can find a good answer on the multiples page! this is great, I had twins 3 years ago. I had high HCG levels, followed by an ultrasound at 7 weeks that confirmed 2 heartbeats
