Thank you for your question. Pygmy goats are the cutest goats I have had the pleasure to own in my lifetime. They are fairly easy to care for and are quite independent. The first thing you need to know is that you cannot keep them in the house with like you would a dog as they like to climb on furniture and chew on everything they can pick up, so your furniture would lose it's legs and your kitchen chairs would be three feet shorter.
Pygmy goats should be kept outside in an enclosed structure such as a small barn or three sided-structure. They won't be a pet like a dog would be but they will follow you around when outside and yell at you for extra treats as they love apples and carrots.
They would make good pets for disabled children as they are gently goats and would not harm the children at all and it would give the children an opportunity to get in touch with nature.
