Are cats and dogs attracted to certain kinds of fabric because of how it feels on their paw pads?

I recieved a Snuggie for Christmas and have yet to use it because my cat won't get off of it...is it typical for animals to be attracted to certain fabrics i.e. Snuggie fleece or whatever it is...Or is my cat just strange?

I'm not sure about dogs, but cats will automatically go for soft fabrics because it feels like their mother, especially if they were weaned too early. I have 4 cats and they all do the same thing to every fuzzy/fluffy blanket we have. So no, your cat's not strange.

Cats are attracting to fabrics that are tough, so they can need into it and feel like they are accomplishing something. Dogs seem to like wool for whatever reason. Your cat may just like the feeling of the snuggie like we all do!

I think that is your cat's way of saying, "hey, how come the dogs have their own Snuggie, but cats don't?"
