Are [[AT&T]] phones in California on Tri band GSM 900/1800/1900 Mhz? Or 850Mhz?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

From what I can find, AT&T is operating on 850 Mhz in California, at least in the Bay Area. Tri-band phones are operational, but will use 1900 Mhz so coverage is limited to where those towers are. The engadget link below gives some background, while the forum provides more discussion on the subject.
