eHow has 9 Steps on how to convert old TV to an aquarium. A bit of warning:
You may want to take the old TV to a repairman and have him remove the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) as the air vacuum inside can cause shards of glass to fly if its glass skin gets cracked or breached in some way.

Simple, remove the picture tube and place a real aquarium inside.

I agree with cp24, but be careful, not only with the broken glass, but also with the fact that the CRT in a tube TV can contain up to five pounds of lead.
