How can I use multiple Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync accounts on my iPhone?

I use 2 exchange accounts on 2 different servers. One is used for mail, the other is used for contacts and calendars.

The iPhone only supports 1 Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account at a time, so I am wondering if anyone knows of a workaround to this. For instance, does anyone know of a way to merge multiple exchange accounts and feed them to the iPhone as 1?

Sorry, I won't take "can't do it" for an answer.

This is a limitation of the iPhone.

To solve the problem, you could connect the 2 exchange servers and either import your calendar / contacts or the email onto one server.

Alternatively, you may want to connect to both servers with Gmail and setup the sync to download the mail, calendar and contacts. This will result in a slight delay (under 5 minutes) of updating, but it would work for free and outside of further Exchange modification.

I've tried to keep this answer clear and succinct. If you would like step-by-step instructions on setting up the connection between Exchange and Gmail please let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.

I sincerely hope that this helps.

Thanks for this answer. Anyone who would like Apple to allow the iPhone to connect to more than one Exchange server at a time, please make your suggestion here.

Hi Rob,

I have been trying to connect my work exchange server with gmail and don't see any way to do this other than pop. Since I really need the appointments calendar also, POP isn't enough. You seem to imply there is a way to import contacts, mail, and calendar into google. Can I get some more info on this?

The best workaround that I have found is to set up one account as an exchange account (syncing your desired calendars, etc.) and to set the second account up as a standard IMAP account.

I have multiple work and school accounts that all use exchange (in addition to my private gmail and yahoo accounts) and I found this to be the best way to check all of my email accounts while still keeping them separate. Because you mention that one account is only used for mail I would set that one up under the "other" option on the iphone as either IMAP or POP.

On a side note, I don't have my exchange account set to sync contacts because I don't want my personal contacts being intermingled with my work or school accounts.

My issue is that I have two Exchange accounts, one for work where I need to get email to my iPhone, the other as a halfway house for pushing Google Calendar to my iPhone. My company will not enable POP or IMAP on my Exchange account, so connecting using either is not an option.

If you're just trying to sync Google Calendar you can use WebDAV instead. This actually works better than the Google Sync method which doesn't carry sync alerts correctly for me. Go to Add Account->Other->Add Caldav account.

Server: www.google.com
User Name: username@domain.com
Password: ************

It connects over https by default, which should be allowed on most domains
