It's a kid with funny glasses lip syncing to a song. Maybe I am missing something but what is so spectacular about that?
That being said, he is very brave to do this and the fact that he does it in Apple stores is good advertising for them. I do not believe that Apple has responded to it yet. I think they are probably weighing their options legal and otherwise first.
Who knows though...maybe this is coming direct from Apple. Hmm....If it is, they have found a new hip way to advertise their products. Good for them!
In any case, I think this kid has a great future ahead of him.

If it's not, then I have become jaded and should re-evaluate my perception of modern marketing.
However, these videos fit the viral marketing formula. They're high quality, interesting, somewhat shocking and directly tied to the brand they are promoting.
If this really is just a kid goofing around, Apple should send him a scholarship to say thanks.

I can't see they would have a problem with it, though, as it's very much in agreement with their core marketing messages: that Apple loves music, that Apple stores are cool places, that Apple computers attract clever people, and that the best way to do creative work is to get a Mac.

http://www.youtube.com/user/EvangelistCharlette is also a very active Apple Store visitor. I would not be surprised if this doesn't turn into some sort of campaign.

It's also a weekend and A long one at that so we probably won't hear anything out of apple on this until probably later in the week.

Just proves you don't have to have allot of money to make it big in this world.
- He's just got that 'X' factor.
Run white, .....run with it and don't look back.
PS: This little overnight sensation has only been on youtube for about 3 months and already has 7,137 subscribers. I predict just under 1 Million by Christmas day.
Mahalo should tap this kid for their next commercial. =P

Has Apple commented on the "Apple Store Kid" yet?
Nicholi White, also known as the "Apple Store Kid," lip-syncs to popular songs, making videos of his performances at the Apple Stores around New York City.
I would think Apple is aware of this web sensation, but have they released any statement for or against his actions yet? If so what did it say?

This is very smart viral marketing. If it's not, then I have become jaded and should re-evaluate my perception of modern marketing.

Apple's press releases for this year can be found at http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2009/; so far they have not issued a press release on this video. I can't see they would have a problem with it, though, as it's very much in agreement with their core marketing messages: that Apple loves music, that Apple stores are cool places, that Apple computers attract clever people, and that the best way to do creative work is to get a Mac.
