Does anyone know of any plugins for iTunes that will let me sync ordinary MTP mp3 players?

My dad has an old Creative Zen Xtra (which is surprisingly still kicking!) and I want to know if there is any plugin or anything for iTunes that will let him sync with his player.

I know of things like BadApple and iTunes Sync, but those only work with mass storage (not MTP) players.

Double tip if the plugin will automatically convert songs to mp3 when syncing!

Based upon your response to one answer, I should note that trying to sync multiple devices with one program can be rather problematic. Between the Zen and iPod, you have different software capabilities when it comes to protected content. If you bought material from the iTunes Music Store, you couldn't necessarily force it to sync to the Zen. The iPod assumes a single library for a single device, so changes on the Zen you're not aware of could impact your iPod.

While a Mac plug in exists, my advice if you are on a PC is to avoid the frustration of trying to go down this road.

Oboewan,

I did a little checking and found a plugin that will at least give you a start. I'm assuming you are on a Mac based on your post. A link to it is below. I have never used it before so can't testify as to it's fitness. One thing you might have trouble with is the DRM on the older Itunes files. They might not be able to be converted without a whole lot of trouble. There are converters out there but they convert by re-recording the songs.

If by chance you are using a PC you could convert the songs to MP3 and import them into Windows Media Player and synce from there. This is the way I listen to podcasts. Not sure if your player will be recognized by Windows though.

Hope this helps,
George

Sorry, I'm on a PC.
I might have been a bit unclear: We have Windows Media Player installed, and he's syncing just fine, but I just got an iPod, and I'm thinking, "Why not have one program to sync both?"
