Yes there is! It's my favorite trick... and very simple.
Do not thump the bottle on the bottom. Instead, get in pouring position (that is, hold the bottle like you're about to pour it onto your burger... because you're about to) and then thump the TOP SIDE of the bottle a few times with your hand.
This will shift the air bubble to the side and allow the ketchup to FLOW! Easy peasy lemon squeesy!

If it doesn't flow - tilt it towards what you want to ketchup on, then shove a butter knife into the opening of the bottle to goose a bit of the red stuff out...that usually is sufficient enough to get an air bubble in there to allow the rest to flow smoothly.
