You can download music and movies at a number of sources legally like Napster, amazon and on iTunes. TV shows are available on Hulu and networks sites like ABC.com.

If you are asking about illegal downloads that's really not a great idea because people are being sued left and right for stealing music and movies. Despite that, people still use BitTorrrent software and sites like the Pirates Bay to transfer files and burn CDs and DVDs.

First, you have to tell me what sort of downloading you are referring to. Are you asking about downloading FROM a CD or DVD to your computer or downloading something INTO the Cd or DVD?
