Anyone getting exasperated with Conundrum Land Answers?

For a very long time, I have had a ton of my answers not post to Conundrum Land Answers. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I always see that I've earned points in my Mahalo activities page, but if my answers don't post, there's no chance for best answer, etc.

Since, like most of the rest of you, I work hard on my answers, this is intensely frustrating. I try only to answer Mahalo questions, but it's hard to isolate them.

Now, to sweeten the deal, they've put up the birthdate barrier, which you must fill out every time you access the blasted page!

Is anyone else experiencing similar difficulties? Please let me know!

I can understand what you feel @victoria_reid I was told an update went through and made a bit of a mess. Things will be back to normal soon.

Although I have not had my answers disappear several of my questions have and for a few days I could not log in for long (usually a page or two at a time). I have seen several people answer my question as well and when I go to read them they simply are not there.

I contacted Mahalo and was told that there were many bugs in the Conundrum system. I was very reassured by this conversation, later that same day I was able to log in again. However although some of the issues are sorted some are still off a bit.

I have been here at Mahalo since mid May of this year and seen a few changes. The turnover to Mahalo2.0 was clouded with errors and bugs for a while too. That change really makes this ConundrumLand bit look like a cakewalk.

The great news... Everything was straightened out and returned to normal within a short while. I'm not going to worry. I will just wait the buggy time out and I'm confident everything will be fine.

• Thanks for the comprehensive rundown! I do hope they straighten this out. I noticed during Lon's tutorial that several people requested a CLand tab. That would be GREAT!!

Thanks, B! Well, comforting to know others (especially the guru status people) are not experiencing smooth sailing. Seems we have differing bugs, but at least we have 'em. I answer CLand questions straight from Mahalo. Should I establish a CLand account? Would that make it easier?

If you have been answering questions from Mahalo Answers I would stay the course. That is how I answer questions there, I see them here and then clicking them brings me there to ConundrumLand.

I wouldn't recommend starting a Conundrum account separate from your Mahalo account (I think that's what you are asking). That is what I had in the very beginning and had to start a new linked account to continue if I wanted to receive the best answer tip money.

So .. overall the best advice is to keep a look out for staff announcements and keep trying to see if things go better..(they will) I have been pleasantly surprised a few times before. :)

It doesn't bother me to enter my birthday. I don't even try to sort mahalo questions from conundrums.. I figure if I can answer the question I can answer it. I also say that in the short time I've been here most of my earnings have been from conundrum questions as people are more likely to ask a question if they don't have to pay for the answer. So I hope they don't do away with them, though they seem to have changed the tip policy...

I haven't had any issues really with my answer's posting. Sometimes I can't edit them and as I am the typo queen that can be a bit obnoxious. Also last week a few conundrum's I answered mysteriously vanished, which was also sort of annoying, probably more so to the asker.

Over all i have no issue with conundrum land though.

It's not so much entering the birthday, it's the amount of time it takes the site to process it and permit entry. This evening, I just finally gave up. Tired of watching the "Rainbow Ball of Death" keep spinning, ya know? Thanks for your answer.

I've had this bug ( no answers showing ) and it was fixed ( cross fingers it stays that way )

I've had the 'no vote button showing' bug, was fixed, now broken again :(

I've now had a best answer without being paid :( maybe it will come through later but I've heard of this happening to others and no points...will wait and see today
EDIT - yep, it has come through, was a bit slow is all

I've also had the 'birthday banner' pop up but its gone now that I entered some info

I would suggest hanging in there !

Mahalo will sort out these issues as priority dictates and since we aren't part of the company we have no idea what that priority list is like ( probably pretty darn big :)

Mahalo is too cool to let a few bugs bug me :D

ps - pass the fly spray please

I've never had any problems with answering. Maybe it's because I go directly to the Conundrum site to ask and answer questions. I find it's a lot easier that way -- I can isolate my activities for both sites, so to speak, and it makes it a lot simpler to keep track of what I'm doing where.

Problems I do notice:

-- The birthday thing is an issue. If somebody is under 21, they'll just put in a fake date. And let's be realistic here. You can be old enough to watch hardcore porn, but not old enough to visit a question-and-answer site that just happens to be sponsored by a wine company?

-- The "Next" button does not work in Google Chrome. I don't want to switch browsers just to use it.

"If somebody is under 21, they'll just put in a fake date."

On top of this, they seem to have forgotten that not everyone lives in America!

I'm in the UK and 19 years old, so I'm of legal drinking age here, but not in the US. This means that I have to lie about my age to get onto the site, as well as having to just make up a 5-digit number for the ZIP code part :s

I had the same experience,a few days back, in fact, I want to ask almost the same questions like yours. Yes, my answers vanished too, spent time to track it but did not find it. Then today, I saw the CLand birthday entry thing, thought my computer hanged, did not entered any data not because of anything , but I find it annoying.
I want to answer a question today ,then bang, the big bottle advert and birthday question. After few times of clicking, I give up, don't want to answer that question anymore. Then I saw your question, so now I'm giving you my insight with that encounter today at CLand.

My biggest issue with CL at the moment is that I live in UK and can not enter a valid Zip code (Entering my UK post code obviously does not work).

It's nothing to do with adding another digit or two, when we have letters in our post codes!

I just made up a 5-digit number, that worked.

I didn't like Conundrumland to start with but wound up answering questions there because they were mixed in. I just encountered the age check. That will help me stay out and avoid the site. I certainly can't be bothered with that. When I have to fill in a birthdate for some site I always pick about 100 years old (and wrong gender if they ask that). I figure if they get enough bad information they'll stop asking.

90210 works as a good zip code if anyone needs one.

20500 is the zip code for the White House. Very prestigious, no doubt.

I put up with CL before because it was part of Mahalo. But now that I have to enter my birthday every single freaking time I want to enter the website... forget it!
