At the now defunct "Riverside" amusement park in Agawam, Ma.- now a 6 Flags- there was this archaic wood coaster called the Thunderbolt.

This thing was so rickety, it felt like it could disassemble itself at any second. A Real five o'clock news kind of story; the cars felt as if they were comprise solely of dry rot and rust. I love wooden coasters, but honestly... It felt like they should have been passing out wills in line. The thunderbolt was only one of two wooden coasters at the park, the older and twistier one, the one where you could watch the paint flake off the supports as it flexed "in equal and opposite reaction" to the movement of it's dilapidated car.
This is the sort of roller coaster that would make you believe in religion or turn to drinking, the type of experience so cheap and risky you question your own approval of personal autonomy.
Ironically, I'm pretty sure the Six Flags that replaced the old park has had a worse safety record than the old one.

The initial "climb to the top" of the ride takes forever and gives you AMPLE time to get terrified before you are plunged downward at high speed. I've been on it a bunch of times at this point and I still get a little nervous right when I hti the top.

I think the most freaked out I have ever been on a ride was the first time I went on Viper at Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. The ride itself is amazing fun but it's very intimidating to look at, what with all the loops and corkscrews. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bellzatk/1116899295/

X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA is absolutely incredible. It was very easy to revel in the wonders of human engineering after this unbelievably exhilirating ride. Throughtout the whole ride you are rotating 360 degrees! If you get the chance to ride this ride, do so immediately!

For me this is an easy question. The answer is simple, Cedar Points Corkscrew was the scariest for me. Not because of the three flip overs but because my shoulder guard was not locked. By this time in my life I had had two kids and my boobs were much bigger and in the way and it would not lock. I swear I peed my pants just a little bit by the time this ride was over! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJe351PbFDc&feature=related

For me it was the mummy ride at Universal Studios. Being in the first row in a pitch black environment, traveling forwards and backwards with things flying out at you, and there's fog and....well any rollercoaster would have been a pleasant ride after that, at least for me.
