Is it safe to have both an Emergen-C and an Airborne in the same day?

I've been feeling under the weather for days and now it's really wearing me down. I know they probably don't work but I like taking Emergen-C for a placebic effect. Now someone just gave me a package of Airborne. Is it safe to drink that one, too?

It's actually fine to take both of these in one day for a few days. With all water-soluble vitamins (C and B are included) over the short term your body will eliminate them fairly quickly - this is why your urine can turn florescent yellow when you're taking lots of vits. You may not want to take them together (high doses of C in some people will cause diarrhea. thanks - you're welcome ; )
If you space them out over a few hours, no problem. Airborne's formula from a Chinese Medicine perspective is quite decent.

Emergen-C contains 1000mg of Vitamin C and Airborne contains 1000mg of Vitaminc C. Just 1 of these items more than satisfies your daily intake of vitamin C so on a regular basis you should not be taking both. However, if you are sick, or know that you lack vitamin C in your diet it would be ok to take both products together every once and a while. It's like the saying " everything in moderation". You don't want to overflow your body with any one viatmin.

I would not take the two product in conjunction, as they are not meant to be taken together. I also would not take the Emergen-C for long periods of time (i.e., daily). It has high levels of vitamin B6 which can cause permanent nerve damage (neuropathy) to the extremities over time. If caught early, this neuropathy may be reversible. However, if left untreated and unrecognized can become permanent. Neuropathic symptoms in the extremities are more often diagnosed as diabetes related and the actual source of the problem missed as doctors unfamiliar with the syndrome likely to follow the wrong path.
