How can I do a juice fast / system cleanse at home?
I'm not looking for a packaged system to buy. I'm looking for natural, down-home remedy type stuff to do. For example, what herbs help with a system cleanse? What about fruit juices? Which ones are the best. So, in a nutshell, I'm looking for a d-i-y juice fast/system cleanse.

Don't cleansing and juice fasts are extremely bad for you and can cause permanent damage. Talk to any homeopath that has a brain a they will confirm this. It's like trying to drive a car without any oil it. What most people don't recognize is that the brain runs on pure fat, not protein not carbs, and when you fast you deprive your brain of fat and it some cases can cause brain damage. When fasting for extended periods you brain releases endorphins to distract you from the fact that you are dying from mal-nutrition. I'm all for alternative medicine but fasting is just plain stupid.

Try the master cleanse. I think it's disgusting and would never do it, but plenty of people swear that if you can stick to it, it will do wonders for you. Good luck sticking to it though, it's really just a lot of drinking lemon water, cayenne and maple syrup, and then some laxative teas if you like.

What is the purpose for doing your cleanse? How long do you plan to do the cleanse for? Generally, doctors agree that doing a cleanse/detox for a short period of time, a day or two, is not dangerous. But there's also debate as to how healthy this is for you.

Most doctors agree that your liver and kidneys do a good job at taking the toxins out of your body.
