I wouldn't make them more than 3 or 4 days out from the party.
When you do make them, be sure to cover them so they stay fresh.
In my experience with making Jello, I have found that by day 4, if it's not eaten it's bound for the compost.
I hope you come up with some crazy flavor combinations! (my favorite is lime Jello and tequila for a margarita shot!)

How far in advance can I make jello shots?
I have a party this weekend, if I start making the shots now will they be good by Saturday?
