Gosh. Well, many other industries have switched to monthly fees rather than individual charges. Maybe it would work for an airline. I really would not want to predict its success but certainly it is worth trying.
Personally, I can't afford to travel that much. But if I was close, I would prefer a monthly fee and not having to worry about the details, just as I prefer monthly telephone fees and monthly bridge tolls.

The flip side is you are traveling for one month. This means you will deal with all the pitfalls of travel.

1. need to travel a lot, for business likely
2. need to have a itinerary that matches JetBlue's routes and flights
3. need to be able to make reservations 3 days prior to flights.
So its really only a minority of people that might find this good.

I just searched for a trip from Long Beach, CA to Orlando, FL on September 14, 2009 and a round trip flight is approximately $500.
Plus, they are getting a lot of free advertising for announcing this incredible deal. I have seen this deal mentioned everywhere.

What do you think of the JetBlue marketing strategy of unlimited travel for $599 for the month? Are any of you buying this?
This question is open to those who can and do fly JetBlue airlines. I'm interested in knowing why this is a good deal or not such a good deal. Does it make you want to travel more because of it? Why or why not? Please explain your answer.

At this point it seems like a great idea. There is a $100 penalty for no-shows. You don't get Frequent Flyer Miles. They got loads of free publicity. I am a family man and my work does not require me to travel via air. However, for someone that might be looking for work and they have a few states where they think they would be willing to move to, I think it would make sense. The flip side is you are traveling for one month. This means you will deal with all the pitfalls of travel.

This is a great marketing tool, especially if you can do at least two trips coast to coast trips or three shorter trips on Jet Blue airlines during the month. I just searched for a trip from Long Beach, CA to Orlando, FL on September 14, 2009 and a round trip flight is approximately $500.
Plus, they are getting a lot of free advertising for announcing this incredible deal. I have seen this deal mentioned everywhere.
