I've never heard of this Elephant company. I have experience with most of the big insurance companies when it comes to auto insurance. The last move I made was to my current provider which is Progressive. I'm positive you can't get the amount of coverage elsewhere for the price I'm paying. They compare quotes from other companies as well and I was able to verify how honest they were because Progressive was actually my last choice. This is the only company I feel comfortable referring anyone to.

I have never heard of that one. I would recommend sticking to the well known companies. Most will give you a free quote. The best thing to do is get quotes from several different companies and see which one gives you the best deal. I was originally with Allstate until I got tired of them continuously raising my rates despite never getting in an accident. I did some research and ended up switching to Geico because they had the best rate for my situation. So far I have been happy with them and in fact my rates went down when I moved.

Hillary, which state are you from? Though I’ve heard about Elephant, I’m not sure about its history, service features, etc. My Texas auto insurance rates are among the best when I compare same coverage policies with all big names in the market. A simple answer to your question is: the definition of ‘affordable’ varies from person to person. Are you looking at only the cheapest rates irrespective of services/claim handling records, etc? OR you want a piece of mind about the help you’ll get from your insurance company when you actually need it? Because, ‘cheapest’ are not necessarily the best.
