A new belt test arrives - huzzah! Today's Brown Belt test is for @edwardclint ... PASS!!

Once a Mahalo user reaches 8,000 points they have a chance to cast aside their trusty Purple Belt and upgrade to the much sought after Brown Belt. In order to earn the right to this iconic accessory, the Mahalo staff will look into the history of the user and decide whether or not they are ready to walk the streets wrapped in Brown. Many aspects are considered in such a test - how long has the user been active on the site, how many questions and answers have they contributed, how many "best answers" do they claim, how generous are they when spreading the M$ love around, and - most importantly - do they posses the upbeat and positive, rockstar attitude that makes a Mahalo brown belt truly stand above the crowd? We'll find out today when we test ... @edwardclint !

Use this opportunity to tell us why *you* think EC deserves this Coffee-Colored mark of honor!

(@edwardclint - if you leave an answer to this question telling us something you love about Mahalo, and why you're proud to be a Brown Belt, you'll also get the M$5 tip - nice!)

=======Post Test Results=======

PASS PASS PASS!

Congrats EdwardClint - the Mahalo staffers are thrilled to bestow the Brown Belt of honor to you!

I mean, seriously, TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND POINTS in LESS THAN A YEAR?! Whaaaaa?

Big Tipper! (M$64!) Big helper! (3,061 helpful answers!) Super dedicated! (last login - right now!) and ... #2 of ALL TIME for best answers! (1,727 - insane!) We are beyond thrilled to click the "upgrade belt" button in our super-dooper-secret-belt-upgrade-facility because, darn it, you deserve it! Way to go Edward - we love having you on the site and hope you stick around for a long long time!

Best,
The Community Team (and all the folks that said such nice things about you below!)

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am very happy to be part of Mahalo, and I am very pleased with the brown belt test, I will be celebrating my first year in Mahalo this coming October, and I am very glad to know all the nice people I met here, especially the staff and the wonderful people of the Mahalo Answers Community. With your help and constructive criticism, I was able to develop my skills.

Being part of Mahalo is a work in progress and I am looking forward to be part of this human powered research engine. Nothing compares on what this site has to offer, and Mahalo is always part of my daily life.

Thank you all!!!

Good luck and congratulations @edwardclint
There is not one other Mahalo belt test so long overdue as this one.
Very few other Mahaloinas have worked as hard for as long as you have and you have done so much with very little reward or recognition of your progress. Finally your day has come and hopefully you will get the belt you deserve so much for all of your hard work here in Mahalo Answers.

Sweet deal Corey, good to know the behind the scenes information.
I just found something I have been holding onto for a long long long time. When a member crosses the point barrier to the next belt level the spy view gives a notification and although @edwardclint has 24849 points this is a snapshot from the minute he received his 8000th point on spy view. Over 16000 points ago.

Edward *is* the man! Don't think he's been without praise - I've sent our boy EC several encouraging emails praising him for his dedication to Mahalo Answers. He's also one of my "go to" peeps on the Guru Team - he's a power house!

The main things holding Edward back from this test was his activity as a page writer and his "tips given". Re: page creation, now that it's more limited than in the past, attitude, generosity and answers activity plays a bigger role. Re: tips, the Mahalo Belts page recommends that Brown Belts contribute at least M$50 in tips to the community before being eligible for their test, and Black Belts, M$100. Edward has been super-generous over the past few months and, as a result, he now stands proudly for his test. Best of luck @edwardclint!
