A lot of people think that porn is demeaning and immoral. How about striptease joints and topless bars?

I don't believe that the mere existence of them is either of the two. So would could be immoral about it? Maybe if you're married and you go to either of them for satisfaction when you should be true to your spouse. Maybe if you go because you feel it gives you some kind of mental power over the people who work there - i mean in the sense that you're better than them and you objectify them.
I don't think it's demeaning. We don't have slave labor in the US right? So anyone dancing nude is doing so by choice. Everyone has personal attributes to make them money. Some are blessed with a natural sales ability. Some have a brain for numbers. Some are visionaries to redefine the way we operate in the world. Some have a gift of a form of artistry. Finally, others are naturally attractive and utilize their assets.
If someone comes from poverty or lack of opportunities, should they spend they lives working for minimum wage in fast food? or should they play to their strengths and sell what people are willing to buy, which may be as simple as a glimpse at their body.
Whatever the case may be, the person providing the service does so by choice and cannot complain about being demeaned. Don't like it? Quit.
Do you feel it's immoral and demeaning? Don't go there. Don't give your money. Look the other way.
I don't personally frequent these establishments as I feel that giving money away to look at a woman who pretends to be interested in me while a beautiful woman sleeps in my bed at home is not my personal style. However, I believe in the freedom of a woman (or a man) to shake what God gave them and of patrons to gain enjoyment out of it.

M$It's the touching that gets to me the most I think. Being "accidentally" touched and fondled by drunker sloberring strangers will scar me for life, whereas in porn at least people who touch you are professionals like you. But I obviously can't speak for other women. That's why I ask this question, to hear what other people think about this issue.
Anyone who does not like being accidentally touched and fondled by drunken slobbering strangers probably should seek another line of work, or at least a high-toned establishment. Most such workers, as I read from time to time, prefer the benefit of larger tips; but, many places are strictly no touching.
The "underlying issue" as you call it, what might that be? I don't disagree that enduring the drunken nature of adoring lookyloos takes it's toll but the incidence of suicide is much higher for dentists than strippers.
It starts as a desire to make the money then the usual temptations come into play (drinking, drugs, relationships) and the ones with a knack for it and the ability to rise above the rest make a success of it then they retire early. The ones with a mind for managing their money do quite well I hear.
Sexuality is nothing to be ashamed of. It's within our nature.
As long as all the parties involved are 18 or older, are being respectful and are comfortable with the situation, there shouldn't be an issue.
I think religious teachings have taught us to be ashamed of sexuality and that giving in to any types of sexual urges makes us bad people. Those who watch pornography or go to places that have sexuality on showcase are seen by those people as carnal and evil things. It's simply not true.

M$I vote unhelpful because of a one liner answer. Can you explain why they should be encouraged?
Your question seemed like an opinion survey to me. That's my opinion. Since I think they are a good idea, not in the least immoral or demeaning, they should be encouraged. I really see no reason or motive for a long discussion of morals here.

I ask this question not because I think porn is immoral, but because there are more attacks on porn than on these joints and so what I really want to know is if people who against porn are also against these joints. I put this in comment because I can't edit my question now. Thanks for answering.
