Can anyone give me tips for submitting well written Mahalo tasks?
I'm really wanting to contribute more to the Mahlo community, but I've been getting a bit aggravated lately because every time I submit a page, it gets rejected. Even the ones that I spend a lot of time and effort on, and I think I've done a good job on them. Can anyone give me some pointers on what the reviewers are looking for and how to impress them?

The first thing I would say is to look at the task page after it is rejected. The staff usually puts down the reason and some pointers. Their feedback is very valuable to you.

Not seeing what you have submitted, I would give the following tips:
1. Do the task completely. Many tasks get rejected because they were not filled out completely -- sections left blank.
2. Write everything in your own words if possible... except fast facts. Those are short enough you can just copy them normally, and you give the reference.
3. Any statistics or opinion type facts need references. You put them in between these: < ref >URL of fact source< /ref >(but take out the spaces)
4. Be sure to inlink any relevant Mahalo pages... even if they don't exist yet. they go between double brackets {{inlinked page}} (use the square brackets. I had to change them to get them to show up...)
5. Ask questions when you are not sure. If a task gets rejected, look and see who rejected it and what their feedback was, then go to their profile and ask a direct question for clarification when you need it.
The coupon tasks are pretty easy to do. Write up a couple of sentences on the company, either its history, or what it does, or something interesting, then tell them they can find coupons on that page. Be sure to inlink the exact page title. Like this: Links to Bluefly Coupons can be found on this page. (or something to that effect)
If you can't find the exact coupon policy on their site, look at the coupons that are provided in the links on the task... if they have expiration dates you can say: Offers subject to expiration. If they have limited quantities, say: Quantities may be limited. (not all coupons will limit the quantities, so use the word "may" even if one coupon does limit them) If you can get coupons or discounts emailed to you, tell them that. Just whatever you can find on this.
Related pages are pretty easy. If you are not sure, look up another page on Mahalo and use some of the same ones, or use some similar ones from the coupon tasks. For instance, if it is a clothing store coupon, use Gap Coupons for casual, Dillards Coupons for a little more upscale... home furnishings is Bed Bath and Beyond Coupons and even the store itself Bed Bath and Beyond. If you are doing a Sears Coupons page, be sure to include Sears. If you have at least four or five that should work. A few more is better.
If there is a fact that does not apply... just leave it blank, but try to find all of them. I find it helpful to open the company website and wikipedia to get those facts. Double check wikipedia where you can... they are often wrong. And I will use Google, too... searching for "company name founded" is a great way to bring up some of the sites out there that have the financial info and some of the fast facts. I've recently even gotten the founded date off of the official company Facebook page.
Feel free to look at some of my approved tasks... go to my profile and click tasks, then approved tasks... you can see how I handled all of the above.
I think we all have had tasks rejected at times... so don't feel bad about it. I think it's great that you are asking for help.
Hope all of this was a little helpful for you.

#Please careful of your spelling you should use MS word or other word processing software and copy paste them into your task. They don't allow spelling and grammar mistake.
#Be careful about you information source don't copy from your source write your task in your own word.
#Use many information source not only the these source which are given.
#Observe many task you also can follow my task link of this below. But this page is not same when I wrote,I wrote every step as description and they convert this as a tips.I also edited some after accepting.
#Do not elaborate any step. Mahalo want just right information in short.See my task.
#Try to keep you task in just 3 steps if you can.My first attempt was containing 11 steps because I thought if I write more it will be better as a result they rejected it.
#Put many link of relative mahalo page it should at least 6 and may be up to12 or 20 as you wish.
#See that when your task rejected they told the cause of rejecting you should try to avoid this disorder. But I don't know what was your cause if I can know I could help you.
#Your task should be opinion based rather than fact.
#Read this sentence "As a day stage actor every normal day I should go the theater" but mahalo want following sentence look the changes"As a day stage actor every normal day "one " should go the theater."
understand the changes?
#So be careful to write the word "I".

You should reply to a task that hasn't been accepted.
The Quality Control team (made of of mostly regular users like you and me) tries to explain things clearly and never really want's to deny a page.
If you're not sure about what you missed, press the reply button near the bottom of the task and I bet you'll receive a ton of help!

Sorry I did not have a chance to answer this question earlier, but I can see that you received some pretty good tips already. I'm an editorial assistant for Mahalo and I review tasks and take a look at tasks that the QC team have reviewed on a regular basis. I'm not sure why your previous tasks have been rejected, as I did not review these tasks or had a chance to look at them. Reviewers usually submit feedback when they reject a task. Did you not receive any feedback with the rejections? Either way I can offers some general tips.
First of all, make sure you read the requirements of the specific task. Several users miss some of the guidelines. Also make sure you take a look at this page: How Mahalo Tasks Works. Some of the advice on this page How to Build a Mahalo Page can also be helpful, even if some of the recommendations do not apply to tasks.
Let me also summarize the most common reasons tasks are rejected.
#Tasks need to contain original writing and no copying and pasting from other sources is allowed, even if you originally wrote the text yourself. Also keep in mind that plagiarism also means rewriting another source, but maintaining its structure and creating a new text that is very similar to the original one.
#You should also make sure the text of each task is substantially different from other ones you have submitted. If we notice that you simply replace a few words but submit very similar text for several tasks, they could also get rejected.
#Tasks need to be complete and contain all of the sections asked for in the task description. Tasks could also get rejected if one or several sections are thin, for example, if you only complete one Fast Fact although there is information available for you to complete more.
#Tasks need to contain objective, factual information and no opinions. If your tasks contain opinions or language that sound like advertisement, they could get rejected.
#While users are welcome to submit links to their sources, tasks can also get rejected if you include several unrelated links with your tasks that appear to be included only to promote an unrelated website.
#While we don't reject tasks because of a spelling mistake or two, tasks that contain numerous language mistakes, for example in grammar and spelling, can get rejected.
#Tasks can also get rejected if you fail to listen to feedback on previous tasks and don't follow instructions you have been given before, for example if none of your tasks include inlinks, even though you have been asked to include them. You should receive feedback both when tasks are rejected and when they are approved, so let us know if feedback is missing from your tasks.
If none of this apply to the tasks you mentioned, feel free to contact me and I can look into your rejected tasks.
