Meet the Mahaloian of the Week - Pazaq

Let's all take a moment to meet and congratulate our latest Mahaloian of the Week, @pazaq!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/33749589@N07/3572089274/

Q: Where are you from and where are you now?

A: From Terra Alta, WV
Right now I'm in my office in the basement of my house in Morgantown, WV

Q: What are your favorite categories?

A: Cooking and IT I think. But I've had a varied background so I'll take a stab at anything I think I know enough about.(With a little help from google.)

Q: What is your favorite feature of Mahalo Answers?

A: I'm kind of partial to the twitter features. I've not used it a lot but sending in a quick question via twitter is quite nice. I also like the stats. I'm a math person so I would like to see lots more stats.

Q: What feature can't you wait for?

A: Not knowing exactly what's on the horizon I'd love to have a twitter style interface in the sense that you could follow certain topics and only questions in those topics would show up on your main page.

Q: Mac or PC?

A: Yes. I have a Mac Book Pro for home use. My work laptop is a Lenovo. And I have a Dell PC. I also run a linux box for firewall protection.

Q: What hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Fishing, photography, MMORPG, and NTN Buzztime trivia.

Q: Where is the most-interesting place you've ever been?

A: I've traveled the US a good bit, seen some islands(USVI, Aruba, Caymans,...), Mexico. Been to most of the tourist traps(Times Square, Disney World, Fishermans Wharf, Bourbon St, Smithsonian,...) but I'm not sure I've been any place more interesting than here in Morgantown. Maybe it's the people or memories; maybe I'm just becoming an old fuddy duddy.

Q: Favorite movie, TV show, band and book?

A: TV show would probably be the Mentalist or NCIS. Band not sure I have one I have very eclectic tastes anything from Otis Redding to Puddle of Mud. Book probably whatever I'm currently reading. I just read Great Expectations. It was great. Movie hmm I'm a sap probably My Big Fat Greek Wedding or French Kiss or Lost Boys. Don't as me why.

Q: What avatars do you look forward to seeing when you click on a question? Who are your favorite Mahaloians? Look forward to seeing?

A: Hmm I've no idea. I kind of try to ignore the answer's identity completely because I like to give everybody the best shake at being the Best Answer. I think cp24 are the ones I dread to see. That usually means there is no chance to get the Best Answer on that question. I find that Lon's Questions and Answers are usually quite funny. I'm not sure intends them that way every time tho.

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to a new Mahalo Answers user, what would that be?

A: Don't bother answering every question. Pick your questions based on both your skill set and your resources. Make sure you add links and pictures or video whenever possible. It really adds to the answer to visually see things. If it's a twitter answer make sure you answer the question in the first 90 chars then elaborate below if you want. Finally ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PUT JUST A LINK. It's frustrating to find and answer and click on that answer only to find the link is dead, gone or changed. Copy the relevant part out into your question make sure to quote it.

I vote a lot. When I go back to my profile page later in the day, I frequently see "You voted for Pazaq's answer as best" several times in a row. Pretty awesome reliability, Pazaq!

And I thought I was the only one that had seen Lost Boys!

Congrats on being Mahaloian of the Week!

Nice to get to know more about you @pazaq.

I drive through Morgantown quite often as I make the trip on I-68 / I-79 between Northern Virginia and Pittsburgh. It's comforting to know that it's the home of a good Mahaloian!

Looks like that brown belt is within reach...

Congratulations, pazaq. Otis Redding and Puddle of Mud? So now I have to start looking for music from Puddle of Mud. I have wanted to see West Virginia ever since I read Eric Flint's book "1632" in which he based Grantville on Mannington, West Virginia. And thanks for all of your great answers.

I like seeing your answers, @pazaq! Morgantown is a very nice area. I have a friend in NC that I used to visit frequently, and I used to drive through the Morgantown area on the way there.

Congrats on being MOTW!

I enjoy not only your intelligent answers, but also your questions (from google goats to graffiti). It's great to see you pop up!

I'm a sucker for a good movie script (French Kiss) too:
"Those French. They hate us, they smoke, they have a whole relationship with dairy products I don't understand."

And, since you're a math person, maybe you could help me sometime. I ran into this math problem not too long ago.
