  • The Postcard

The postcard was addressed in December 1937 to Miss S. Ledermann. One of Frank's best friends was Susanne "Sanne" Ledermann.

It has a Christmas bell decorated with four-leaf clovers and ribbon in the foreground and a snow-covered field in the background.

It is postmarked from Aachen, where Frank was visiting her grandmother in Germany. The German words, "Viel Glueck im neuen Jahr," which translates to "Much Luck in the New Year" are printed on the card.
