AnnaSophia Robb is a young film actress and singer. She captured the attention of many after her starring role in the family movie Because of Winn-Dixie at the age of nine.
Early Life
Robb was born in Denver, Colorado on December 8, 1993. Her parents are Janey and Dave Robb. She was named after her great grandmother Anna Sophie, and her grandmother Anna Marie. Robb once competed in dance and gymnastics but gave them up when she began acting.
Early Career
Robb first appeared on a television commercial for McDonald's and then on an episode of Drake and Josh on an episode titled "Number One Fan". In 2004, she starred in the television movie Samantha: An American Girl Holiday.
Major Roles
The same year that Robb starred in Beacause of Winn-Dixie, she also had a big role in the Tim Burton remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where she played Violet Beauregarde.
In 2007, Robb starred along side Josh Hutcherson in the fantasy movie Bridge To Terabithia. She recorded the song "Keep Your Mind Wide Open" for the soundtrack. Her song appeared at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first song to hit the charts.
Robb has gone on to have a leading role in the horror film The Reaping.
Success
Though AnnaSophia Robb is only 14 years old, she ha achieved so much in her life. She won the Young Artist Award in 2008 for her role in Bridge to Terabithia, and was nominated for three other awards. She is currently filming a movie called Race to Witch Mountain which will be released in 2009.
