Early Life
Born Ann Davies in 1949, the Michigan native met Mitt Romney at a party in 1965. The next year, she converted to Mormonism, the religion of Romney's family. After graduating from high school in 1967, Ann attended Brigham Young University in Utah. Mitt and Ann were wed in 1969.
In the Public Eye
In 1998, Ann Romney was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and she is a board member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. While First Lady of Massachusetts, Romney became involved with several children's charities. During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Ann Romney campaigned actively on behalf of her husband.
