Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter is a conservative political commentator and author of several best-selling books, including 2007's If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans. Coulter has faced criticism for some controversial remarks in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including a statement that America should work to convert the Middle East to Christianity.

Coulter has made a career out of controversial statements made during appearances on talk shows and in her numerous books. Her first book, High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton, argued for the impeachment of Bill Clinton. In her writing, she typically blasts liberal democrats on a range of issues, including what, in her mind, is their lack of respect for people of the Christian faith.

Coulter faced criticism over comments she made on Donny Deutsch's The Big Idea. After an exchange about Coulter's vision for a perfect America, Deutsch asked Coulter, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" and Coulter responded, "Yes." She went on to say, "We just want Jews to be perfected."

Coulter was scheduled to appear on the first and fourth hour of NBC's The Today Show on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, to promote her latest book, Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America. NBC canceled Coulter's scheduled appearance the night before, explaining that they wanted to devote more air time to news in the Middle East. Coulter appeared on the ABC show The View on January 7, 2009. During her appearance, Coulter discussed motherhood and criticized single mothers, saying that many societal problems are caused by children being raised by single mothers.You Tube Video: Ann Coulter on The View (Time: 8:31)
