Anheuser-Busch is one of the world's largest brewers of beer. The company produces Budweiser and Bud Light, as well as Busch and Michelob. Anheuser-Busch also makes energy drinks and non-alcoholic malt beverages. The company has been operating since 1852, when it was established as a Bavarian brewery. Eberhard Anheuser and his son-in-law Adolphus Busch are the namesakes for the company and set it on its path to become the largest American brewery. Anheuser-Busch is also known for its huge advertising presence, and is associated with memorable ad campaigns such as the Budweiser frogs, the "Wazzup" campaign and "Real American Heroes" ad spots. In July 2008, Belgian beverage giant InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch for $52 billion.

On July 13, 2008, Anheuser-Busch was acquired by InBev for $52 billion. While there was speculation that the InBev company's deal with Busch appeared as a hostile takeover, the companies state that the merger is a friendly one. While ownership of the company shifts to InBev, Anheuser has two seats on the board. After the merger, the company plans to cut 1,000 full-time salaried jobs.
