Angie Stone is an American, two time Grammy-nominated, Soul Singer-Songwriter, keyboardist, record producer and actress.
During the 1980s Stone was a member of the female hip-hop trio, The Sequence. Their song "Funk You Up" reached number fifteen on the US Top Black Singles chart. She then worked with Mantronix before singing background for Lenny Kravitz on his fifth studio album.
In the 90s Stone joined the R&B trio Vertical Hold. They released the hit song "Seems You're Much Too Busy." In 1996 she teamed up with Gerry DeVaux and Charlie Mole. They formed the group Devox. Together they recorded one album, Devox Featuring Angie B. Stone.
Stone finally released her solo debut album Black Diamond on September 28, 1999. In time the album went gold. Her song "Wish I Didn't Miss You" reached number one on the U.S. dance charts. Other hit songs by Stone include "No More Rain (In This Cloud)," "U Make My Sun Shine," "I Wasn't Kidding" and "Sometimes."
