During President Barack Obama's weekly address to the public, he named Aneesh Chopra as the country's first Chief Technology Officer. Obama said, "Aneesh will promote technological innovation to help achieve our most urgent priorities -- from creating jobs and reducing health care costs to keeping our nation secure." In addition, Obama named Jeffrey Zients as chief performance officer.
